ARTISTS OF THE YEAR AT
MODERN  DESIGN AQUASCAPING TAKE PART IN 4 DAY POND BUILD FOR

SHAQUILLE ONEAL



Knoxville, Tennessee locals Father and Son team, John & Tristan Adams of Modern Design Aquascaping were one of seven National Artists of the Year asked to help pull off a Herculean effort for NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Building for 4 days in the pouring rain (random polar vortex) this group worked at least 60 hours!

Installing a beach area, fire pit, a custom Superman logo urn, and some good ol’ Tennessee driftwood, handpicked by John and Stacy Adams from towns in Tennessee.

Tristan Adams is the foreman at Modern Design Aquascaping and as the son of John, they were quite excited!

This is an awesome project for them to do together. Most of the other artists of the year also brought their sons and those boys worked! Trudging through what ended up being 6 inches of mud, these guys pour their hearts and souls into it.

 I might add it went spectacularly! Complete with his custom-made treehouse from Pete on  “Treehouse Masters”. 
Greg Wittstock, owner of Aquascapes Inc. Has managed to pull together several artist types with larger than life personalities and incredible, mad skills!

Greg also has been working on getting Shaquille O’Neal a pond for quite some time.

The guys from Aquascapes Inc. Drove down almost running out of diesel fuel and had all the supplies delivered for a horrendously large, stunningly beautiful, custom water feature. This baby has all the bells and whistle’s! Including custom Lights that are controlled by an app and will turn to any color. 😲 


These artists came from all over!😎 California, New Jersey,  New York, Canada, Pennsylvania, Chicago Illinois, and of course Knoxville Tennessee!!! They drove! They flew!  The locals May have even walked, Some even coasted🤣. And then they worked!

They came up with an incredible design that has special touches from every artist of the year represented. Shaquille O’Neal himself, and I’m paraphrasing, said he has been a part of so many reality shows and you only ever see the glossy stuff it never really happens that smoothly or that quickly and he was blown away!

Because they showed up, built it, made it come to life, brought the magic, and then cleaned up and rode away👍🏻.

Since it’s completion Greg Wittstock a.k.a The Pond Guy, and Big Rich from Ohio Fish Rescue, And all the local CAC’s,have been back to check up and brought the fish!
