The Modern Design Aquascaping team is in Nashville, TN, for a Koi pond overhaul, demolish & rebuild project! The homeowner had an existing pond that was old and outdated and needed a refurbish. This video we’re going to walk through the challenges we faced with the existing structure and large rocks to give this pond a fresh look. One of the biggest challenges we faced was logistics. The area we had to work with was very compressed due to the pool located near the pond, which presented a problem when you need to have heavy equipment in such a tight area. Another element to the rebuild was a good portion of the stones were cemented and mortared into place along with large slabs of Tennessee Limestone. This video gives you a detailed look at the hard work that went into removing all the existing cement, mortar, and stones to expose the area and create a new water feature. Side Note From John: You never know what you’ll find when you start to remove an existing structure! Watch the video to see what surprise guests we had for the build!! This video is a great example of how our team works to overcome challenges to create beautiful ponds and waterfalls. The detailed steps in this video are a good example for homeowners that have existing ponds in tight spaces that we can get the job done with a look and feel that the home was built around this natural feature.
