The Modern Design Aquascaping team is in Uganda, Africa, working on a project that will have a lasting impact on generations of kids to provide sustainable drinking water. Thirty thousand gallons of water is captured several times a year that will change the lives of a lot of kids. This project was made possible by the people willing to come and take up a shovel and the donors who funded the project to come together and make a difference. The video will show all the hard work that went into this project and see the potential of the thousands of lives we’ve changed. This experience changed our hearts and we hope it changes yours!
The aspects of this project are that the materials you’ll see in this video are some of the same materials we use in building custom ponds and waterfalls. The foundation has been dug out and the team begins by leveling the area with the pitch toward the lowest level the underlayment. The underlayment helps to protect the liner from sharp objects in the dirt.
The build required a massive amount of aqua blocks, and once the liner is in the blocks are all placed and then covered with the liner to prevent soil from getting into the water. Once the liner seals up the aqua blocks the remaining soil will go to backfill around the liner to hold it tight, so water doesn’t get in and under the structure.

Clean water is the lifeblood of this country. Clean water leads to healthier kids! You never know the impact you have on a single child!
