Modern Design Aquascaping (MDA) has been in business since 1994 and has been building water features since 2002. The business is family owned and operated by John, Stacy, and Tristan Adams. They have positioned themselves as leaders in their industry by working hand-in-hand with the most respected water feature builders in the world.

They have been involved in projects spanning 11 U.S. states and 3 countries abroad. These projects include The Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo, Gulf Shores Zoo, Aquascape's U.S.A. headquarters, Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson, the City of Pigeon Forge Water Treatment Facility, Victory Junction Camp, and La Primavera Urbana in Colombia, S.A. They have also worked with the Aquascape Foundation on rain water harvesting projects in Uganda and Ghana, Africa to bring fresh-clean drinking water to those in need.

MDA is a Master Certified Aquascape Contractor and has also completed the certification process for rain water harvesting. John worked on the Aquascape team for several months in 2013 with the "Pond Guys". MDA has been featured in an episode of The Pond Squad, and has been on both local and cable TV. They have been published in national pond magazines and have spoken on talk radio, given presentations for hundreds of people at garden shows, clubs, and trade related events across the country. They also won Artist Of The Year, a coveted, world-wide award among pond artists.
